It’s hard for me to be the judge of whether joining a private law firm at 45 is a “late” or mid-career transition. I believe I was incredibly lucky to end up with the TEO group at Schell Bray. I also think a about how damaging it was to things like my retirement as a federal civil servant and what I had imagined would lead to storied role being one of many of the cogs in what was an elegant machine. I also miss the amazing health insurance. All that said though it’s been more good than bad once I got past my fears and imposter syndrome.
