In the early hours of July 2, 1944, during the Battle for Saipan, 40 Thief Lt Ski’s best buddy, Lt Joe Dulcich, was WIA. A Japanese Sniper’s bullet severed Joe’s spine. Doc Webber, the first surgeon to work on Joe, was amazed he survived. After 5 years of failed surgeries to repair his severed spine at Stateside hospitals, the sniper’s bullet finally did its job. Joe Dulcich died on December 22, 1950. The Marine visiting Joe in the hospital is General A. A.
