Hora est! On April 23rd, I successfully defended my PhD thesis, “Interventions targeting hepatic and cardiovascular complications of metabolic syndrome”. What an honor to share this milestone with family, friends, and colleagues! I would like to sincerely thank my promotor Prof. Dr. J. Wouter Jukema and copromotores Dr. Anita M. van den Hoek and Dr. Geurt Stokman, as well as my amazing paranymphs Nikki van Trigt and Dr. Eveline Gart. Thank you all so much for your support throughout this journey! A special thank you as well to the members of the reading committee, who critically evaluated my thesis, and to the opponents for the engaging discussions during the defense.
