The UN just secured The BAG! Yes, that's the actual acronym for the newly formed UNDP Blockchain Advisory Group that convened in Paris this week. 26 organizations and 14 foundations came together to form the group including: Algorand Foundation, Ethereum Foundation, Cardano Foundation, Stellar Development Foundation, Sui Foundation, Filecoin Foundation, Web3 Foundation... How many foundations does it take to advise the UN on blockchain? Just about all of them, it seems. Behind the punchline, the work is serious. First focus: financial inclusion. Fragmented payments, identity gaps, interoperability barriers. Billions of people shut out of basic financial services. Blockchain has been promising to help with this for years. Now it has a seat at the table that actually matters. The roadmap covers digital identity, climate finance, public procurement, and more. Twice a year, they'll pick a theme and go deep.
