PhD, Biological Chemistry

I’m happy to announce that I successfully defended my PhD in Biological Chemistry from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill! My research in Gary Pielak’s lab focused on macromolecular crowding effects assessed via NMR. Our most exciting work uses AI-designed proteins as crowders to systematically measure the effects of crowder size and surface chemistry on protein stability. Stay tuned for our publication! I am grateful to my PI Gary Pielak for all his support and mentorship over the past several years. I am also appreciative of my fellow PhD students and undergraduates in the Pielak Lab for all the helpful discussions and mood-boosting coffee runs. I’m looking forward to seeing where the future takes me!
