Industry Business Unit Utilities
We just wrapped up our Executive Value Network for Renewables, bringing together SAP leaders, customers, and partners to address one of the most pressing questions in our industry: how do we move from managing renewable assets to running truly autonomous energy operations? Over two days, we explored the full spectrum — from exploration and design through operations and optimization — with contributions from an outstanding partner ecosystem. PiLog Group and his CEO Dr Imad Syed addressed the critical foundation of it all: master data quality. Their 47 AI Agents, now SAP-certified and integrated with the Endorsement App, tackle everything from data harmonization and governance to procurement excellence. The message was clear — without clean asset data, even the best AI will hallucinate. Smitha Rayala Elmar Paul presented the current Asset Performance capabilities that can be deliver to cover specific needs from the industry like RDS-PS as well as how the industry benefit of those practices. Unisys and Ana Giral covered asset investment planning for growing renewable portfolios. Connect all your technical and financial data to have full control of your planning activities. Tiago Fernandes and TeamViewer how the integration between FSM and teamviewer can make your operations fly. Cumulocity and Phoenix Contact showed how to bridge the IT/OT gap with edge-to-cloud intelligence. With 90% of industrial data still going unused and turbine downtime costing EUR 8,000 per day, their approach to data normalization at the edge and cloud-based fleet management makes the case for connected autonomous operations. Aaron Raab Mathias Weßelmann Youwind and her CEO Anna Rivera Jové demonstrated their web-based platform for wind farm screening, layout optimization, and BESS co-location design — with more than 4,500 GW of wind farms simulated and 25+ awarded offshore projects behind them. Their integration with SAP Cloud ERP and CRM enables seamless data flow from project design through to operations. X-ELIO and Alberto Carrasco Sánchez shared their transformation journey to Cloud ERP and how a company can go from ECC to S/4HANA Public. Some metrics were shared that are impresive with big business outcomes. Evora IT Solutions and Alfonso Lacerda presented a compelling case study: a centralized Monitoring and Prediction Center built on SAP Asset Performance Management, overseeing biomass plants across Portugal and the UK. Their architecture — spanning SAP APM, BDC/Datasphere, SAC, and Digital Twins in PLM — moves the needle from reactive maintenance to AI-driven boiler optimization and autonomous operations. Special thanks for PiLog Group and TeamViewer for their sponsorship with a super great dinner! #SAP #Utilities #Renewables
