Building Your Family’s Dream Financial Plan- Helping Family’s 25-45 Years Old Align Their Financial Goals With Their Day To Day Actions.

If you could go back to your internship, what would you do differently? I love internships, it's the only reason I'm a financial advisor today. I threw together a list of 10 things to do before the summer ends for our current class of interns. A lil' internship bucket list if you will. Sneak peek of some of the list: 1. Get GREAT at telling your story. - Everyone's greatest strength is their individuality. Know what yours is and capitalize on that strength. 2. Write a thank you note. - You're in the 1% of gratitude if you write a HAND WRITTEN thank you note these days. Email, text, etc. doesn't count. People remember these notes. 3. Build in public. - I mean c'mon. I built half my career here on LinkedIn for ten's of thousands to see. Tell your friends, family, etc. about what you do and your passion for it. Only good can from it. 4. Go out with your fellow interns. - If you do your internship right it should be difficult, uncomfortable, hard. When you do hard things together as a group, it builds a bond. Go celebrate and build that bond even stronger in your free time, go catch a game together, grab a drink, share a breakfast together. It'll only strengthen your relationship to your work. Thanks to Nikki Barone for having me this week to speak to our group of summer interns! WestPoint Financial Group has THE BEST internship program for college students looking to start a career in financial advising. Can't wait to see what this summer has in store for these fellas!
