I'm greatly saddened to learn tonight that the bright rich life of New Zealand winemaker Cleighten Cornelius was taken by his cancer diagnosis, and my thoughts are with his family and colleagues. Cleighton was always attuned to the 'international politics' of wine, and I'll fondly remember being engaged by his deep interest in obscure topics that often only appeal to international trade wonks.
