Recently, our team at Digital Asset Evaluation completed the study "šš»šš²šæš»š®šš¶š¼š»š®š¹ š¦š°š²š»š®šæš¶š¼ šš®š¹š°šš¹š®šš¶š¼š» š¼š³ š¢š³š³ššµš¼šæš² šŖš¶š»š± šš š½š®š»šš¶š¼š» ā š„š²š±šš°šš¶š¼š» š¼š³ š£š¼šš²šæ šš²š»šš¶šš š¶š» ššµš² šš²šæšŗš®š» ššš š®š»š± ššæš¼šš-šš¼šæš±š²šæ š„š®š±š¶š®š¹ šš¼š»š»š²š°šš¶š¼š» š¼š³ š¢š³š³ššµš¼šæš² šŖš¶š»š± šš®šæšŗš š¶š» šš²š»šŗš®šæšø š®š»š± š¦šš²š±š²š»", commissioned by BDEW Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft e.V. and BWO - Bundesverband Windenergie Offshore e.V. ā and it's now publicly available. Ā Our extended scenario analysis for 70 GW offshore wind by 2045 shows: š¶š»šš²šæš»š®šš¶š¼š»š®š¹ šš½š®šš¶š®š¹ š½š¹š®š»š»š¶š»š“ šŗš®šøš²š ššµš² š±š¶š³š³š²šæš²š»š°š². Shifting capacities into Danish and Swedish maritime areas significantly increases total energy yield ā most notably in the 20 GW cross-border shift scenario, where higher yields more than offset the additional costs for operation and grid connection. Ā Another key finding: š¼šš²šæš½š¹š®š»šš¶š»š“ š®š¹š¼š»š² š¶š š»š¼ šššÆššš¶šššš². While it improves grid utilization compared to the reference scenario, it does not match the performance of a pure 20 GW cross-border capacity shift. Combining both leads to increased wake and curtailment losses that erode the energy yield gains. Ā The takeaway: šæš²š®š°šµš¶š»š“ š³š¬ ššŖ š²š³š³š¶š°š¶š²š»šš¹š šæš²š¾šš¶šæš²š š½š¹š®š»š»š¶š»š“ šÆš²šš¼š»š± š»š®šš¶š¼š»š®š¹ šÆš¼šæš±š²šæš - šš½š®šš¶š®š¹š¹š, šæš²š“šš¹š®šš¼šæš¶š¹š, š®š»š± š¶š» š“šæš¶š± š±š²šš¶š“š».
