Balfour Beatty plc has secured the £325m Netherton Hub project for SSEN Transmission in Aberdeenshire, a major grid infrastructure scheme that will support the movement of renewable power from Scotland to demand centres across the UK. The scale of the project is significant: ⚡ Major earthworks ⚡ Two substations ⚡ Three HVDC converter stations ⚡ Operations and support facilities ⚡ Over 800 people expected on site at peak This is exactly the type of investment the UK needs if we are going to strengthen grid resilience, unlock renewable generation and support the wider energy transition. Specialist supply chain partners. The demand for talent across transmission, substations, HVDC, utilities and wider power infrastructure is only going one way.
