Our partnership with ReFarm Ireland emerged because we recognised an organisation that was looking to innovate in the area of #Biodiversity by giving ownership to the true experts - Ireland's farmers. We have co-funded ReFarm since its inception in 2024 and their participation in this week's inaugural Farming for Nature Festival underlined the sound thinking driving their operational model. The festival, in Ballykilcavan Co. Laois, brought together a range of organisations and farmers who are tackling the major issue of biodiversity loss in Ireland. A recent government report (https://shorturl.at/9wsfK) painted a bleak picture with the key findings being: - Ireland ranks in the bottom 10% in the world for intact biodiversity - Ireland spends the lowest share of GDP of any EU state on nature - 90% of protected habitats in Ireland are in an unfavourable conservation condition The report's recommendation that "support for farmers, fishers and foresters" be prioritised is aligned with the perspective of ReFarm. To understand their great work, you can read their Impact Report here: https://shorturl.at/mqZqu and learn more about our own work on Environmental Stewardship in our 2025 Sustainability Report (https://shorturl.at/RdgzM) #Biodiversity #Sustainability #Environment #FarmingForNature #GoFurtherBuildSmarter #JohnPaulConstruction
