Operations is about turning inputs into value consistently and profitably. Inputs → Processes → Outputs → Outcome For example, in the telcommunication industry, it would look like this: • Inputs: Staff, SIM cards, technology, agents • Processes: Registration, activation, customer onboarding • Outputs: Activated subscribers • Outcomes: Revenue, market share, customer satisfaction For fashion brands, it’ll be: • Inputs: Fabric, artisans, capital • Processes: Design, production, quality control, fulfillment • Outputs: Finished garments • Outcomes: Customer satisfaction, profitability, brand growth For faith-based Organizations, it’ll be: • Inputs: People, facilities, volunteers, finances • Processes: Services, discipleship, administration • Outputs: Programs and member engagement • Outcomes: Growth, impact, sustainability Every organization has operations, whether it realizes it or not.
