If ever we have been in the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) world it has been the last two years. This term has been around for 20 years plus and originated from the American military to describe the theatre of battle. A fitting analogy for the end of 2021. I also recently heard a corollary in terms of how we feel in this environment . That is BANI, or how it feels (Brittle, Anxious, Non-Linear and Incomprehensible) . This is not a negative definition, but the reality of how we feel under these circumstances. Coming to terms with how we feel is critical in terms of how we respond to these difficult times. As somebody who races for fun, we were taught to have a light grip on the steering wheel, rather than a tight one, so we could feel the road and read the signals. Although the overriding temptation right now maybe to disconnect from the road together. Maybe, we just need a light grip and staying focused on what matters. #connectionmatters #resilience #wellbeingmatters Deborah Russell - Executive Coach, PCC, ICF Garrett Forsythe Sehaam Cyrene PCC Christine Bakewell Allard de Jong (ⓂⒶ, ⓅⒸⒸ) Rebecca Beck (FCIPD) ACC Melissa Luck Ursula Wandrag Ahmad Al-Honjol Said Hobeika Matthew Emerson Sikander Bizenjo Mary Aslett Credit to Stephan Grabmeier for the graphic
