Scientific Director, Computational Pathology Knowledge Hub

Curiosity met computation yesterday as we welcomed 35 masters students in Innovation & Technology, led by Gustavo P., from our Partner of Choice Tecnun - Universidad de Navarra, at the AstraZeneca Computational Pathology/Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. site in Munich. After a welcome from Nihad Bajraktarevic and introductions by Hadassah Sade (Computational Pathology) and Andrea Passalacqua (Alexion), the students explored the full spectrum of AI‑driven biomarker discovery - from poster sessions to hands‑on interactive workstations. Throughout the day, lively conversations and Q&A unfolded - in plenary sessions, at posters, at workstations, and in corridor discussions - fueling the exchange and turning the visit into a true ideas showcase. This engagement is also a powerful opportunity to strengthen our reputation for scientific excellence and position AstraZeneca/Alexion as an exciting employer for future talent.
