Yesterday, more than 20 researchers published a preprint (https://lnkd.in/dB4jNXJC) that points to the opportunities of #personhood credentials in combating the increasing threat of AI-generated misinformation. In this article, I embed this paper in some previous work and the ongoing development of the EU digital identity wallets (#EUDIW) and point to some critical remaining issues that require the attention of researchers and practitioners.
