Despite being involved in the Welsh language world for a couple of years now, the stars had never quite aligned for me to make it to the Eisteddfod… until this year! I only managed a few days before heading off on a family holiday, but what a few days they were. On Monday, I had the huge privilege of seeing my brother admitted to the Gorsedd following his success at the Urdd Eisteddfod in 2023. The rest of the day was a whirlwind of running around trying to soak up every bit of the maes. Tuesday was just as special - working with the incredible Coleg Cymraeg alongside Gwil and Ffion on a panel discussing learning Welsh and our experiences at university and beyond. In between, I made sure to catch the theatre, music, and arts on display. Highlights included: 🎭 Wrecslam by Theatre Cymru, where it was a pleasure to see fellow Medal Bobi Jones winner Isabella Colby Browne acting. 🎶 Merched y Wawr - my first show by Cabarela, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Of course, I was also darting around creating content for my next exciting project (that deserves a whole separate post 👀). I even put together my first ever Welsh-language vlog of my time at the Eisteddfod, now up on YouTube. It was lovely bumping into so many familiar faces too - like Mirain Iwerydd, and some of the Libera team I worked with at the Royal Welsh. I’m really looking forward to attending their upcoming Social Media Conference Cymru in September. Overall, my first taste of the Eisteddfod has left my heart full. Diolch o galon to everyone who made it so memorable - methu aros am 2026 ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.
