Today was my daughter's first ever Sports Day. (And thanks to Lindsay Mitchell & Shellie Phillips MIRP, DipRM at Xpert Recruitment Solutions Ltd it was yet another moment i didnt have to miss) At just 4 years old, she came 3rd in one race and 1st in another. Safe to say this proud mum was cheering louder than anyone else! šāāļøš But what struck me most wasn't where she finished. It was the opportunity to start teaching one of life's most important lessons: - You won't always come first. - Sometimes someone will be faster. - Sometimes someone will be better. Sometimes, despite your best efforts, it just won't be your day. And that's okay. The real win is learning to celebrate your own achievements while also being genuinely happy for the people around you when they succeed. It's a lesson that doesn't stop at Sports Day. In recruitment, not every candidate gets the job they really wanted. Not every recruiter makes the placement. Not every business secures their first-choice hire. But success isn't just measured by being first over the finish line. It's about showing up prepared. Giving your best effort. Learning from every experience. And having the professionalism and confidence to applaud the success of others along the way. Because there will always be another race, another opportunity, another chance to succeed. Today, my daughter won a race. But the lesson I hope she remembers is that character matters far more than the medal. ā¤ļø #SportsDay #WorkingParents #LifeLessons #Recruitment #Leadership #Success #GrowthMindset #ProudMomMoment Chloe Clewlow Holly Phillips Lindsay Mitchell Shellie Phillips MIRP, DipRM
