What does meaningful shared decision-making look like in bladder cancer? Insights from the Bladder Burden Survey – organised and funded by Johnson & Johnson in collaboration with advocacy partners World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition, the International Bladder Cancer Group (IBCG), and the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network – highlight challenges patients may face across their care journey, from communication gaps to the impact of treatment on daily life. Clinical expertise is critical. At the same time, the survey findings suggest that patients want to feel informed, supported and involved in decisions about their treatment and care goals. In a recent LinkedIn Live discussion, Carolyn Sousa, Alex Filicevas, Prof. Dr. Christian Wülfing, and Lori Cirefice explored how listening, collaboration and shared understanding can help support more patient-centred bladder cancer care.
