Great communities are rooted in strong relationships: to the land, culture, and one another. We've experienced this firsthand in our work alongside the Moose Cree First Nation. On National Indigenous Peoples Day, we reflect on the importance of listening and learning from Indigenous partners. Supporting the Land Use Plan for Moose Factory Island, our role was to facilitate collaboration and ensure the process remained guided by Cree knowledge, community priorities, and lived experience. By weaving together traditional knowledge and technical planning, the plan supports housing, infrastructure, and long-term resilience while honouring deep cultural connections.
