This year marked our second time hosting the Sinhala and Tamil New Year at Massey University, and it was truly something special. Massey Avurudu '25 brought together over 200 people in a vibrant celebration of Sri Lankan culture — full of tradition, laughter, and community spirit. 🌸 As Treasurer of the Massey University Albany Sri Lankan Association (MUASLA), it was an honour to be part of the incredible team that made this event possible. From coordinating with small businesses to host stalls on the day — a great way to support our community while adding to the festive atmosphere — to managing budgets and to seeing the joy on everyone’s faces on the day, every moment reminded me of why I love what I do — event planning, blending finance, and cultural connection. I’m so proud of what we accomplished together and the impact it had on our community. A massive thank you to our dedicated committee for your hard work and heart, and to Te Tira Ahu Pae for your continuous support. To our amazing MUASLA community — Thank you for turning every event into a true celebration of home.
