I’m excited to share that, thanks to a generous grant from the Hamilton/Wenham Edfund, my Wellness Dept. co-workers and I will soon be offering our students a brand-new Climbing Tower and Double Zipline! These additions will give students even more opportunities to step outside their comfort zones, collaborate, and grow through challenge — the same core values we teach in our Adventure in Leadership in Education course. In many ways, the journey to make this project a reality mirrored the very lessons we teach: it took trust, clear communication, creative problem-solving, patience, and — above all — teamwork. Since Fall 2022, we’ve been working together to plan, present, and push this project forward, just like students on a ropes course learning to rely on each other and navigate obstacles as a team. A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make this happen: Superintendent Eric Tracy, Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Administration Vincent Leone, Director of Facilities Curtis Wrightman, High School Principal Bryan Megegoni, Wellness Curriculum Leader Jessica McGraw, our amazing administrative assistants, and the team at Project Adventure Inc. Your support was like the belay system — always there, keeping us steady and moving forward. I can't wait to share this experience with our students. We’re hopeful that this new Tower and Zipline course — along with other facility improvements — will not only enhance our programming but also help keep more students excited to stay in our amazing school district.
