Last night, our biomedical engineering students created history at the inaugural UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT Tech Fest biomedical engineering showcase! We attracted hundreds of attendees with close to 20 projects presented by 90+ students across our biomedical engineering subjects - a truly impressive effort! From stem cells and 3D bioprinting all the way to single cell sequencing, drug delivery vehicles, lateral flow assays, and biomedical implants, our students are truly working at the forefront of biomedical innovation and engineering excellence - and communicating their work with utmost passion and professionalism! Congratulations to all of our student presenters for your impressive work - the future is in your hands! A big thanks to our UTS School of Biomedical Engineering for making this possible, particularly Ying Zhu Daniel Carter Helen Xu Nham Tran Gyorgy Hutvagner Carmine Gentile for nominating your students, Jessie Nguyen Gyorgy Hutvagner Laura Rangel Sánchez Guocheng Fang Dr Aaqil Rifai Ye Zhang for getting through the very difficult task of judging all those amazing projects, and of course Iman Roohani for co-leading the showcase organisation (and putting up) with me and David Gallego Ortega for supporting us along the way. Also a big shoutout to the central Tech Fest team particularly Jason Do Loletta Yuen - all this would not have been possible without you! To all of our UTS biomedical engineering students and presenters - we are so utterly proud of you, and look forward to seeing you in many more successful Tech Fest events to come!
