Alumni Spotlight – YOSSI BARAK (JASON BURKE) After graduating JFS having failed his O Levels and CSEs twice, Yossi quit school and went to work at an estate agent on the Finchley Road. For the last 26 years, he’s been a plumber in and around Jerusalem, making Aliya four days after his 18th birthday on 6th September 1987. Having spent almost two years in the Machon Meir Yeshiva followed by nearly 3 years of the Israeli army, he became a nurse’s assistant on the adult autistic ward of Etanim, Jerusalem’s psychiatric hospital. During that time, he got married and had 3 children, as he was completing a government funded plumbing course.
