The CycloRotor promises a system that offers far greater maneuverability, agility, and compactness than conventional propulsion or control systems, making it possible to instantly adjust the magnitude and direction of thrust over a 360° angle around its axis of rotation, without the need to tilt any part of the aircraft’s structure. According to Roey Epshtein, Director of Engineering at CycloTech, the goal is not to replace propellers, rotors, or jet engines with CycloRotors, but rather to expand the range of tools available to aviation, unlocking new potential capabilities and levels of freedom in the sector. CycloRotors would be integrated into an aircraft in various sizes and quantities and powered by electricity or conventional fuel systems. Of course, the challenge lies not only in having a great idea, but in finding a way to certify it. https://lnkd.in/e8CGF3a8
