A year ago, I priced my ghostwriting work low on purpose. My reasoning: if AI can generate a LinkedIn post in seconds, for next to nothing, how could I possibly charge more? So I optimized for volume. In one month, I had over twenty-five clients. This had an interesting side effect: pattern recognition. Working with so many founders gave me a lot of data points. I began to notice what works for seed versus Series A founders. I saw how the same post concept performed in engineering versus legal tech. I tracked what happened when founders post more on LinkedIn versus when they hold back. And I realized: my clients can't get this from ChatGPT. This accumulated knowledge is what I'm selling now, and yes, it costs more. Ironically, the tech I thought would cap my prices is what's making my expertise more valuable.
