According to Podolsky, et. Al (2019), 90% of the teacher workforce that left voluntarily resigned due to personal reasons, including starting a family of their own. The United States is notorious for having the worst maternity and paternity leave and childcare of all the developed nations. If longer, more comprehensive maternity and paternity leave for teachers were introduced, teachers starting a family would not have to undergo permanent termination from their jobs, but be able to continue after their parental leave or while their children’s childcare is taken care of. Such is the practice in Canada, for example, where my sister had maternity leave, but returned to the same veterinary practice afterward, not losing her experience, and took her daughter to a province provided daycare so that she could work. In addition, jobs I most enjoyed and felt most loyal to employed community building events and teambuilding exercises. Such activities enhance bonding and trust among coworkers, so that they are more likely to stay at the job with a positive and supportive social environment. @GSULead #GSULead References Podolsky, A., Kini, T., Darling-Hammond, L., & Bishop, J.
