Hans-Rudolf Meier reminded to share the earlier German-language version of my essay on Disneyland and Warsaw, cheekily entitled "Warschauland": https://lnkd.in/gfy2i8Ep. As he mentioned, this was, in fact, my first post-injury publication - last year, I wasn't posting regularly yet, so this is a great opportunity to share the work. Whereas in the English version I focused on archival photographs and the pejorative application of the term "Disneyland" to the reconstruction of Warsaw, in the earlier, more playful, German translation, I considered the implication of AI-generated images of ruined Warsaw on the possibility for transnational thinking about postmodernism and reconstruction. A huge thanks to the editors of the collection: Gabi Dolff-Bonekämper, Hans-Rudolf Meier, Stephanie Herold, Wolfram Höhne, Nikolai Roskamm, and Daniela Spiegel! The book is full of wonderful essays related to questions of identity and heritage.
