🌞 What a scorcher! Exactly one week ago, on a warm Wednesday, we kicked off construction at our BMW Group Belux headquarters in Gemeente Bornem, and we were honored to have Federal Minister of Mobility, Jean-Luc Crucke, and Mayor Greet De bruyn join us for this momentous occasion. In true BMW style, they even drove over a strip of wet concrete to create an 'artful' concrete souvenir! We always knew a BMW, a MINI and a motorbike could double as modern art! 🎨 With a double digit million euro investment, this project is more than just a construction site; it’s our commitment to a more sustainable future and a testament to our leadership in the automotive industry. By 2027, our revamped headquarters will house 600 employees, bringing together our teams from BMW Belux, MINI Belux, BMW Motorrad Belux, BMW Group Financial Services BELUX, and Alphabet Belgium under one roof. As our CEO, Alexander W. Wehr, aptly put it during a good conversation with the Minister, “Together, we are shaping a future where innovation and ecological responsibility go hand in hand.” On the product side, we’re already making strides—having cut CO2 emissions from registered BMW cars in Belgium by a whopping 44% (WLTP) in just two years!💚 So here’s to a future of more sustainable mobility, a little bit of concrete art, and maybe a few more summer days ahead! ☀️🚀 Glad that various newspapers and a television station helped us spread the good news! The report on television channel RTV (thank you Evelien Heeren !) gives a glimpse into what the art production was like! Big thank you to all who made this possible: my colleague Fanny De Leenheer, the team at OVAL: Vincent Claes, Freek W., Annick Nees, Lisa Scholte, and our image magicians Arno P. and Andreas Gijbels. Kudos also to Thomas De Spiegelaere and Britt Monten from the administration and the Cabinet! #BMWGroupBelux #Innovation #Mobility #ConcreteArt #Summer
