Across our Group this week we will celebrate and recognise NAIDOC Week, a time to learn about the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Pictured is our wonderful Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) artwork by Chern'ee Sutton, a proud Kalkadoon woman and Aboriginal artist from Mount Isa. The orange circle in her painting represents the sun, and just like the sun, we provide energy. The rainbow serpent represents respect, connection to the land and Aboriginal people and culture, with the coloured dotted circles in the background symbolising the rugged Australian landscape on which we work. Our Innovate RAP builds on the progress we’ve made to better understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, cultures, and histories under our commitment of ‘Connecting to Country - Connecting with Community’.
