Founder, COPRODEV PLUS, High Throughput Cheese Cutting Technology
Everyone must have heard of the passing of ownership of COPRODEV to the EXCELPRO group, more precisely GENIK. It would have been difficult to find a better partner than GÉNIK, a reputed robotic and automation organization endowed with highly competent personnel. On the other hand, COPRODEV offers GENIK a door into the dairy industry, both of which can now offer complete cheese cutting solutions including the end of line operation such as over-wrapping, robotic case packing and palettizing. On a more personal note, this transaction edges me into my retirement, which I like to call my third career. Multiple personal projects that were on standby will be taken care of; courses in the science of life, worldwide travel, home projects, fixing my jeep and other good stuff, not to say , I will always be available to general consultation on cheese cutting technology. I founded COPRODEV in 1992, that’s 33 years, some highs and some difficult periods held together by a group of hard-working artisans, toward which I am very grateful. Every single project that was delivered was the collaboration of a large team of designers, engineers and logistics specialists. The following is the name of some collaborators that I will never forget, by hiring order; - Pierre Landry, The Hien Nguyen, Alain Guimont (partner from 1994 to 2007), Pierre Chagnon, Pierre Lahaie, Danielle Béland, Mihaela Volintiru, Yannick Labrosse, Albert Gerlicher, André Weclawski, Luc Laurin, Guillaume Racine, Yvan Boudreau, Charles Diaz, Vi-Minh Wuong, Jean-Jacques Jasmin, Martin Beaudet, Benoît Cousineau, Daniel Samsons, Cristinel Ciobota, Martin Gauthier, Jen-Philippe Gaudreault, Sara St-Onge, Serge Pèlerin, Jillali Mouhmid, Maxime Veillette, Melissa Maybee, Srdan Boskovic, Vincent Fortin, Arefeh Marvi, Francis Blackburn, Luc Dupont. I can say with assurance that to a lot of the young engineers coming to COPRODEV, some straight from graduation, was a kind of a school, a training ground, responsibilities had no borders, a steppingstone toward the larger corporations. In the end, I am please to pass the torch, and am very grateful to a lot of people, also very proud to leave a company, small in size but capable of rivaling with very large organization. Last but not least, I wish to address a special thank you to all of my customers. Those who have trusted me to deliver large projects according to expectations. Thank You! Merry Christmas and Happy festivities to All! May the force be with you.
