🚁 Innovation in Action at the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering! šŸ¤– We are delighted to share a significant milestone achieved by the students of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) ECE JUIT, Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat Our students have successfully designed, assembled, integrated, and demonstrated an autonomous drone flight system, developed entirely from the ground up. From frame assembly, propulsion system integration, sensor interfacing, flight controller configuration, and software implementation to autonomous navigation, the project reflects the interdisciplinary skills and hands-on engineering capabilities nurtured within our department. šŸš€ Designed. Built. Integrated. Calibrated. Tested. Optimized. Autonomous Flight Achieved. šŸ› ļø Key Engineering Contributions āœ… Frame Assembly āœ… Propulsion System Integration āœ… Sensor Interfacing āœ… Flight Controller Configuration āœ… Embedded Software Development āœ… Autonomous Navigation In parallel, our students have also been actively engaged in robot prototyping and development from scratch, including mechanical assembly, electronics integration, control system implementation, and testing. These projects provide invaluable experiential learning opportunities and help bridge the gap between theory and real-world engineering applications. The journey was not without challenges. Achieving stable flight required extensive testing, calibration, and fine-tuning to overcome balancing and control issues inherent in a newly assembled drone platform. Through perseverance and repeated iterations, the team successfully achieved a stable autonomous flight. āš™ļø Challenges Overcome āœ… Flight Stability & Balancing āœ… Control System Tuning āœ… Multiple Rounds of Testing & Calibration āœ… Real-Time Performance Optimization šŸ–Øļø 3D Printing in the Project An additional highlight of the project is that the propeller guards were designed and fabricated by the students themselves using the 3D printing facility available in the department laboratory through Bambu Lab 3D printer. Special appreciation to Aaditya Dudeja and Abhinandit Singh Saunkhla, 2nd year students of ECE Department who played a key role in designing, piloting and testing the drone during its development and demonstration phases. šŸ‘ Kudos to all the other students involved, as well as the faculty members Vikas Baghel and laboratory staff of the DRobotics Lab, for their guidance, dedication, and teamwork in making this achievement possible. #ECE #DroneTechnology #AutonomousFlight #Robotics #Innovation #StudentAchievement #DRoboticsLab #JUIT #EngineeringEducation #HandsOnLearning šŸššŸ¤–šŸš€
