PhD Researcher at TUM, Professorship of Digital Fabrication
The Project “Terra Habita”, offered by the Professorship of Digital Fabrication (Kathrin Dörfler) during the winter semester, focused on the design of a pavilion as a space of encounter on the Campus Garching of Technische Universität München (Technical University of Munich). Embedded in the Timber Earth Slab (TES) research project, the studio explored wood and earth construction, using digital fabrication as a conceptual design driver and demonstrating the system’s architectural potential. 💫 👉 See more in our project booklet here: https://lnkd.in/dkUHS26G I had the pleasure of leading the studio in collaboration with the Chair of Architectural Design and Construction (Florian Nagler, Tilmann Jarmer) and the TUM Chair of Timber Structures and Building Construction (Stefan Winter, Gerhard Fink, Dominik Merk, Christoph Kurzer, Niklas Ebert). We would like to thank our guest critics for their valuable input: Bettina Baggenstos (Blumer Lehmann, Lehmit GmbH), Tobias Schwinn (Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD)), Alexandre Dubor (Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia) and Helga Blocksdorf (Technische Universität Braunschweig). Many thanks also to ABB Robotics (Katrin Ziemlich) for their support. Most importantly, thank you to our students: their dedication, curiosity, and creativity resulted in carefully developed and compelling pavilion designs scalable for regenerative building fabrication. We now look forward to the upcoming project week, where we will bring one design to life as a full-scale pavilion together with our students! 🛠️🪵 #TUM #timberearthslab #roboticfabrication #computationaldesign #regenerativematerials
