For a few days, each year the city hands its keys to Philipp Westermeyer and the team behind OMR — and 70,000+ visitors were reminded why #Hamburg is also making its case for the Olympic stage. Yes, AI was everywhere. But OMR is long past that: entrepreneurship, culture, music, sport, politics. When the DJ of the #BeastieBoys, Vice-Chancellor Lars Klingbeil, #Sido, WHOOP founder Will Ahmed and the CEO of Deutsche Bank share the same stage, a festival becomes a live podcast of an entire society. Between meetings at THE EMBASSIES, encounters between Elbe and Alster, and countless introductions, one thing became clear again: We live in the people economy. What stays stubbornly impossible across dozens of Zoom calls happens instantly in person. A greeting becomes a conversation. A conversation becomes an idea. An idea becomes a door.
