New Master in Engineering Today Wouter Klumpers defended 'Digitally' successful his thesis of the MSc. in Maintenance & Asset Management at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht). His thesis is how about transform data into Product data Management. The aim of this master thesis is to conduct qualitative descriptive research to explore the possibilities that a smart production can offer within the production process of his compagny. Based on an exploration in the field of Industry 4.0, a Delphi study, a Moscow analysis and a stakeholder analysis. The research focused at the current and desired situation in the field of smart manufacturing and product data management. GAP analysis provides insight into the results. Smart manufacturing and product data management in the current situation can be described as minimal. Product drawings and information are used and managed on a server in a directory structure. Results from the Delphi study show that incorrect production drawings end up in the production process, resulting in delays and miscommunication. Well done Wouter and all the best...!
