For those I haven’t met yet, a brief introduction. James Breust ~ I build operating businesses and technological/ algorithmic based systems where structure, discipline, and repeatable execution matter more than narrative. I am the founder and managing director of Blackwood Global, a structured agricultural trading and operating group designed to perform across complex commodity markets through systems-led control, institutional governance, and real-world execution. My work has focused on designing the underlying architecture required for businesses to scale without dependency on individuals. This includes pricing and yield logic, contract and risk frameworks, logistics coordination, data governance, and operational oversight — built to function as embedded infrastructure rather than standalone technology. I come from the mechanics. My experience spans the full agricultural value chain: livestock procurement, processing and manufacturing interfaces, boning room and program design, logistics and cold-chain coordination, export documentation, commodity trading, and long-duration supply programs across domestic and international markets. I have operated inside these systems, not around them. Blackwood Global is the result of years spent building, testing, and refining this architecture — aligning real transactions with disciplined controls so that performance is structural, not aspirational. I am interested in long-duration value creation, institutional alignment, and businesses designed to endure.
