I am reposting this article for visibility, because I really enjoyed the research into the Halifax maritime disaster and it did not receive the reaction I anticipated here on LinkedIn. At the time, the incident was the Oklahoma City disaster of the era, sans the terrorist aspect. The story is one of loss and negligence, but also of resilience and recovery. Having lived through the disasters of Katrina and Deepwater Horizon, perhaps that is why the story of Halifax resonates so much with me.
