History Teacher at Revere High School

I suddenly lost a great mentor and friend this week and it is devastating to the entire Revere community. Bill O‘Brien or OB as he was known to many at RHS was someone who was fiercely loyal to his mentees, his colleagues, and above all his students. He lived a full life with many adventures and NSFW stories and jokes, but while the cynicism of his later years as an educator sometimes got the best of him, he was still an idealist at heart. I remember texting him something cynical at a faculty meeting just this month and was surprised he chided me as being too green and too young to feel that way, and I now realize it was his own way of saying keep the faith and keep that youthful idealism. This statement from the city and the huge expected turnout for the memorial service on Thursday are a testament to the impact one good teacher can have on a community. https://lnkd.in/gdafWXFY
