The new digital experience of Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, created together with JAKALA Iberia, has been recognized as a #WebbyHonoree2026 in the Cultural Institutions category, one of the digital industry's most prestigious international recognitions. 🏆 At JAKALA, we're proud to have partnered with the museum on this ambitious digital transformation, combining strategy, design, user experience and technology to help shape a digital experience worthy of one of Europe's leading cultural institutions. The challenge went far beyond redesigning a website. It meant rethinking how one of the world's most important museums could connect its collections, exhibitions and knowledge with millions of visitors through a modern, accessible and future-ready digital ecosystem. The scale of the transformation speaks for itself: ✨ One platform, thousands of cultural assets brought together • 30,000+ pages migrated • 16,000+ artworks digitized • 2,400+ activities • 760+ exhibitions and guided visits Rather than simply refreshing the visual identity, the new experience was conceived to make navigating the museum's extensive content easier, more intuitive and more inclusive, while staying true to its contemporary character and international standing. Behind the scenes, the project also established a solid technological foundation for the years ahead. A headless architecture built with Drupal and React enables more flexible content management, improved performance and security, multilingual capabilities, and the scalability needed to keep evolving over time. We're grateful to the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía for placing its trust in JAKALA Iberia throughout this journey. This recognition highlights the value of collaboration between cultural institutions and multidisciplinary teams in creating digital experiences that make art and culture more accessible to audiences around the world.
