Vicenza: the oldest covered theatre in the world Andrea Palladio, the great Renaissance architect, continued to leave an imprint on the city of Vicenza for many years after he passed away in 1580. Others – including Vincenzo Scamozzi, his pupil – were left to complete projects such as the Olympic Theatre (Teatro Olimpico) that Palladio had designed.
