A beautiful combination of progressive design-build, behavioral health, and healthcare. In light of #MentalHealthMonth, we’re featuring a few of our projects that support the mental health of our community, like the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning. This light-filled, six-story facility is brimming with hope, integrating 150 beds between behavioral health and medical care, as well as a training hub for the nation’s largest psychiatry residency program, all within a single technology-forward building. Early in design, the first-of-its-kind project encountered several programmatic and budget challenges driven in part by site constraints. Our integrated team with University of Washington, CannonDesign (SRG Partnership), and Clark Construction Group led brainstorming sessions to identify cost-saving solutions, ultimately reducing the building from seven stories to six while redistributing beds without sacrificing any part of the program. Through our PDB process, we aligned scope, budget, and constructability early to reduce risk and deliver this state-of-the-art center. This is progressive design-build in action. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we build a team around mutual trust and shared goals. #builttruebuilttogether #behavioralhealth #mentalhealth #publicworks #pdb
