The first assembly tool for ITER's equatorial port plugs has arrived on site, marking the start of an important testing and training phase ahead of port plug installation. The length of a small bus, the new tool is part of the cask and plug remote handling system designed to precisely position and insert port plugs weighing up to 48 tonnes. These components will seal the openings in the vacuum vessel while housing the critical heating and diagnostic systems. The system was developed by Fusion for Energy (F4E) in collaboration with the ITER Organization and European industrial partners. Read more: https://lnkd.in/em8kv-eG Fusion for Energy
