A pleasure to welcome European Council President António Costa to ITER. During his visit, hosted by ITER Director-General Pietro Barabaschi and Fusion for Energy Director Marc Lachaise, President Costa toured the worksite and saw first-hand the substantial progress being made on the world’s largest fusion energy project. The visit was a strong signal of Europe’s commitment to ITER and to the international collaboration needed to advance fusion energy. As a key ITER Member, the European Union plays an essential role in bringing together scientific expertise, industrial capability and long-term vision in support of ITER’s mission.
