On Monday, we had the privilege of celebrating some of the most inspiring figures in our community at the BCS Lovelace and Society medal awards. This year’s recipients - Mirella Lapata, Michael Kölling, and Baroness Beeban Kidron - have each made an extraordinary contribution to computing and its role in society. From advancing research in Natural Language Processing and AI systems, to transforming how we teach and learn computer science, to championing the rights and protections we all need in a digital world, their work reflects the very best of our profession. The evening was hosted by our Deputy President, @Emma Logan, and we were delighted to have BCS President Sarah Winmill present the awards. Together, it was a celebration not only of individual achievement, but of the collective impact of a community committed to making technology work for everyone. Congratulations again to our medallists, and thank you for the lasting difference you are making.
