𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗜𝘁 𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝘂𝗽. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲: 𝟭. 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗹-𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸. USPS has proposed requiring states to submit mail-in voter lists to a federal verification system that doesn't exist yet — before ballots even go out. The NAACP is now in federal court arguing this violates a 2021 settlement requiring USPS to prioritize election mail. One in three Americans votes by mail. Adding an unfunded, unbuilt federal layer to that process, just a few months before the midterms, is a real risk. 𝟮. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴. The Supreme Court allowed Alabama to revert to a map with only one majority-Black district out of seven — reversing a lower court that had found the map intentionally discriminatory. It's the latest fallout from 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘴 𝘷. 𝘓𝘰𝘶𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢, and it won't be the last. Similar redistricting fights are playing out across Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Tennessee. 𝟯. 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀. Over 100 FBI agents raided the Cleveland offices and staff homes of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, a nonprofit that helps people register to vote, citing claims of “fraud.” Helping citizens register to vote isn't a crime — but treating it like one is a desperate attempt to send a chilling message to civic organizers everywhere. 𝟰. 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗼𝘀. Newly released security footage shows staff from the Maricopa County Clerk's Office—led by election denier Justin Heap—removing a ballot scanner and ballot envelopes from a secure tabulation center during a March election. The county is investigating. When officials overseeing elections are also the ones generating confusion and distrust in them, everyone loses. 𝟱. 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀, 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻. The President falsely claimed Democrats are "stealing" California's primary, using it to push the SAVE America Act. There's no evidence of fraud. There never has been. But the claim isn't really about evidence; it's about laying groundwork to contest results he doesn’t like. These aren't isolated incidents. They're a pattern of weakening the rules, the referees, and the institutions that make elections free and fair — right as the rules matter most. But pressure works. Thousands marched on Selma and Montgomery. South Carolina Senate Republicans rejected a redraw that would have eliminated the state's only Black-majority district. A sealed Fulton County case involving a DOJ subpoena was unsealed. Accountability requires people paying attention and staying engaged. We'll keep tracking it — follow along with Issue One.
