Today, the House passed a War Powers Resolution to end the unconstitutional war in Iran. GOOD. But let's be clear: This illegal war started 95 days ago. Our elected officials had 8 other chances to pass this bill. To stop this latest example of executive overreach. Each time, they didn't. Meanwhile, polls show the American people don't want and can't afford this war. Not to mention, 13 service members paid the greatest price of all, and came home in flag-draped coffins. Hundreds more were wounded. So, we're glad they got there. But the American people deserve better than this. The Constitution isn't optional. We'll be watching to make sure everyone in Congress follows through--because now the Senate has to act.
