𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽'𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗨𝗦𝗣𝗦 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹-𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 📮 On June 2nd, the Postal Service proposed a rule — following Trump’s March executive order — that would make USPS a federal gatekeeper for mail-in ballots instead of a neutral mail carrier. States would have to submit voter lists to a federal system that doesn't exist yet. USPS would use that data to verify mail ballots before they're allowed to move through the system. The rule proposes no extra funding for states. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹-𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸: 🚨 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮 𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘌𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘠𝘦𝘵 — Just weeks to build a flawless system for millions of ballots. This risks creating delays and errors. ❌ 𝘋𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 = 𝘝𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘙𝘪𝘴𝘬— Any mismatch between state and these new USPS systems could delay or block your mail ballot. 😤 𝘕𝘰 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘍𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 — Election officials are already underfunded and overwhelmed. More work with zero resources could *actually* make our elections less safe, less secure. ⚠️ 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘤𝘺’𝘴 𝘈𝘵 𝘙𝘪𝘴𝘬  —  USPS has never played a role in handling voter data or deciding which ballots can be processed. It could also collect your private data from your ballots. 🎯 𝘞𝘩𝘰'𝘴 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦? — Who knows? With a new federal layer added, it’s less clear who’d be responsible if problems arise. 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: There's no evidence of mail-in voting fraud. Instead, this is what authoritarians and dictators do to stay in power — claim there's a problem with their elections (when there's not), and use it as an excuse to seize control and stay in power.
