Let’s talk about community. And how intentional design helps build it. Was invited to the newly opened Panerai boutique at ION Orchard last night, where Paneristis were invited. Yes, the watches are cool! Especially the limited edition ones. 🤤 But the smartest thing there may not be in the display case. It’s the lounge area. Drinks. Coffee. Seats. Space to chill. They didn’t just build a place to sell. They built a reason to stay. That’s smart. Because when people stay, they connect. And when they connect, loyalty grows. Now the uncomfy bit. 🙃 A lot of organisations say they want collaboration, culture, and new ideas. But they design the environment for people to rush, transact, and leave. Then wonder why teams stay in silos. You don’t need a fancy office. But you do need to be intentional. A decent space to pause. A bit of breathing room. Permission for people to talk without calling it unproductive. That’s not fluff. That’s where trust builds. And where better ideas usually start. Where do your best conversations usually happen: the meeting room, or somewhere in between? 🤔
