I have some news. After 12 years with Kearney, this is my last week at the firm. I sit in the Vienna office, sipping an espresso and getting ready to hand in the articles that have been a big part of my life over the last decade: my Thinkpad, my iPhone and my entry chip. Tomorrow is my last day as a Kearney consultant, after which I will be joining the booming world of esports (more on that in the next days). I took this opportunity to reflect on this long journey – a journey that led me from the desert metropolises of the Middle East, to the cozy and delightful cities of central and northern Europe, and occasionally to San Francisco, Moscow or Shanghai.. but also on the people with whom I have shared it, colleagues that helped me grow and friends who I’ve come to cherish and will always miss dearly. The role Kearney played in shaping my career and my life cannot be overstated, and I will always love this firm, if only for that. Since I always believed that a firm is nothing else than its people, it is YOU who made this time so special for me – for that, I am thankful. … Those short on time with deliverables to finish can stop reading here – the rest settle in with a coffee and enjoy (I hope!) this most self-indulgent, magnum opus of farewell notes - see article below. I write the rest of the story, to thank the people (current and former Kearneys) and this firm for their impact on my life, but also with the hopes that my story can help others appreciate how lucky we are to be – or have been – a part of the Kearney story. #kearneyoriginals #kearney
