Operator OMV is making use of its option wells from it's earlier Island Drilling Company AS deal to utilise the Island Innovator semi-sub drilling facility to appraise the Hades gas and condensate discovery. Consent has been granted from the Petroleum Safety Authority in Norway (Petroleumstilsynet) for drilling using the Island Innovator operated by Odfjell Drilling and classified by DNV GL. Two wells are expected 6506/11-12 S (99 days work) and 6506/11-12 A (23 days work) in PL644. Tie-back to existing infrastructure located at Equinor's nearby producing fields is the likely scenario. The wells are expected to spud in June. OMV holds 30% working interest in PL644 with partners DNO Norge AS (20%), Spirit Energy Norway AS (10%) and Equinor (40%).
