A milestone in quantum error correction. IQM has achieved a breakthrough in quantum error correction — introducing directional tile codes, a new family of qLDPC codes that can be implemented natively on IQM’s Crystal architecture. Developed in collaboration with Freie Universität Berlin, the University of Edinburgh, and Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, the result advances IQM's roadmap toward fault-tolerant quantum computing by 2030. “Directional tile codes represent a breakthrough in this direction, delivering up to a 1,000-fold reduction in logical error rates on near-term-sized IQM Crystal hardware while relying only on practical nearest-neighbour connectivity. This is a significant step toward scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing,” says Dr. Inés De Vega, our Chief Scientist Learn more about the research, link in the comments. #IQM #QuantumComputing Jan Goetz Juha Vartiainen Juha Hassel Vincent Steffan Francisco Revson Fernandes Pereira Mark Falcon Blair Robertson Sylwia Barthel de Weydenthal Pasi Kivinen Jan Kuerschner Soren Hein
